PHILADELPHIA – The No. 13 Drexel women's squash team (4-9) suffered a Friday afternoon loss to the No. 5 Yale Bulldogs (9-1) to begin Drexel's Homecoming Weekend. Yale won by a 9-0 final from the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
The Bulldogs proved too much for the Dragons as Yale swept 8 of the 9 matches for the victory.
Drexel freshman Anna Hughes won one of the only games for the Dragons in her third from the No. 3 position. The New Zealand native dropped her first two games, 11-5, 11-6, before winning the third, 11-7. But she lost the fourth for the match, 11-3.
Drexel returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 29 against Dartmouth. Action begins at 10 a.m. from the Kline & Specter Squash Center in Drexel's Daskalakis Athletic Center.
