
Rowing Takes a Top-10 Finish Sunday at the Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Drexel rowing team's men's varsity eight highlighted the Dragons' morning Sunday on Lake Mercer at the Princeton Chase. The boat finished 10th overall against some of the top boats in the country.
Racing in the Lois Krall II boat, the men's varsity eight finished the Lake Carnegie course in 12:57.900, besting top eights from perennial top-20 crews from Navy, Saint Joseph's and Temple and finishing eight-tenths of a second off of George Washington for ninth. The Boat finished 20th in the Sandra Lee Sheller II boat, and the C finished 37th.
On the women's side, the Dragons' B boat, which raced in the Cara Fry boat finished ahead of the A boat, which raced in the brand new Alleva XVII boat. The B boat finished 29 th in the 52-boat category with a time of 15:24.203, while the A finished six seconds off that pace. Drexel's C boat, in the Marlene Buckley II boat finished 37th.
The Dragons will close out the fall season in two weeks on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Frostbite Regatta on Mercer Lake.
