No. 6 Villanova Defeats Drexel in Charity Exhibition on Wednesday

Philadelphia - Drexel and sixth-ranked Villanova tipped off in an exhibition game on Wednesday to benefit hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. The Wildcats defeated Drexel, 87-68, at the Jake Nevin Field House. The Dragons played an inspired second half and outscored the Wildcats, 46-42, over the last 20 minutes of the contest.
The Dragons were led in scoring by Tadas Kararinas. The rookie from Lithuania drained all three of his long-range attempts and finished 6-for-7 from the floor for 16 points. Sammy Mojica added 12 points, while Troy Harper chipped in with 11. The Dragons had 10 steals as the Wildcats committed 21 turnovers on the night.
Villanova had a balanced scoring attack with five players scoring at least 10 points. Jalen Brunson scored an efficient 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Eric Paschall added 15, while Mikal Bridges added 13 points. Villanova shot 58 percent from the floor and blocked 12 Drexel shots in the game.
The Dragons will suit up for their first regular-season game of the season on Nov. 10, when they host Bowling Green at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
