Kelly, Willemse to Play in Sunday Consolation Finals at Individual Championships

HANOVER, N.H. – Juniors Atticus Kelly and Luke Willemse of the Drexel men's squash team will each be playing in consolation finals on Sunday morning after advancing through with wins on Saturday at the 2017 Individual Championships in Hanover, N.H.

In the Molloy East Draw, Willemse lost on Friday in the round of 16 to move to the consolation draw. There he defeated Amherst's Mohammas Harith Khawaja in the quarterfinals and Connecticut College's Matt Lillie in the semifinals on Saturday. The Drexel junior will now matchup against Navy's Senen Ubina in the consolation finals at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

In the Molloy Division West Draw, Kelly defeated Yale's Thomas Kingshott in the consolation semifinals by a final of 6-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-4 on Saturday to advance to the consolation finals. On Sunday, Kelly faces Williams' John Fitzgerald at 10:30 a.m.

Senior Michael Thompson went 1-1 on Saturday. In the Molloy Division North Main Draw, the senior defeated Wesleyan's Christopher Hart in three games on Saturday, 11-7, 11-8, 11-4, before falling to Rochester's Lawrence Kuhn in the evening semifinals, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7.

Sophomore Bransten Ming lost his consolation quarterfinals matchup to Trinity's Rick Pender on Saturday in the Pool Division to end his individual championships.
