Dragons Down Bryn Athyn For First Win of the Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's basketball team posted its first win of the season on Wednesday night with a 118-41 win against Bryn Athyn at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Trevor John nailed eight three-pointers and led seven players in double figures with 26 points as the Dragons improved to 1-2 on the season.
John was 8-for-10 from behind the arc and recorded his first game with 20 or more points. Jarvis Doles and Zach Walton each added 15 points. Walton finished with a game-high nine rebounds. James Butler was 6-for-6 from the floor and had 14 points in just 12 minutes of action. Kevin Doi and Camren Wynter each had career-highs of 11 points. Wynter also had eight assists. The Dragons shot 67 percent from the floor and had 15 three-pointers.
The 118 points for the Dragons was a program record. The old record was set back in 1978, when the Dragons scored 115 in a triple overtime win game against Siena. The margin of victory also set a school mark.
Lamarr Crenshaw led Bryn Athyn with 10 points. The Lions shot just 24 percent from the floor. The game did not count in the standings for the Lions, as according to Division III rules it was an exhibition game. It did count as a win for DU.
Drexel will visit La Salle on Saturday, Nov. 17 for a 4 p.m. game.
