Drexel Defeats BU, 86-67, for Third Straight Win

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Cam Wynter scored a career-high 22 points as Drexel defeated Boston University, 86-67. Five Dragons scored in double figures as Drexel picked up its third straight win and improved to 3-2 on the season.
Drexel scored the first six points of the game and led from wire-to-wire. The Terriers (3-3) kept it within reach and trailed by just six heading into break. The Dragons quickly scored the first eight points of the second half to take a double-digit lead and never looked back.
Wynter also eclipsed his career highs with nine assists and eight rebounds, narrowly missing a triple-double. He was 7-for-9 from the floor and perfect in eight attempts from the line. James Butler had a big day for Drexel as well. The sophomore scored a career-best 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was also 7-for-9 shooting. Zach Walton chipped in with 13 points, while Trevor John and Alihan Demir chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
BU was led by Max Mahoney's 20 points. Tyler Scanlon scored 14 points for the Terriers, who shot just 3-for-14 from long range. Scanlon handed out six assists.
The Dragons shot 56 percent in the game and missed just two of their 19 free throws. They dominated the boards as well, almost doubling up BU on the glass (40-21).
Drexel will have a few days off before returning to play on Sunday. The Dragons will play at MAC-foe Bowling Green in a 3 p.m. game.
