PHILADELPHIA - Austin Williams blocked a Stuckey Mosley shot as time expired as Drexel held off James Madison, 76-74, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Thursday night. It was the third straight win for the Dragons. With the win, Drexel moved to 4-7 in the CAA and 10-14 overall. JMU fell to 6-18 and 2-9 in league play. Troy Harper led four Dragons in double figures with 17 points.

The Dragons led by five with six minutes to play after a Harper three-pointer and a pair of free throws by Kurk Lee. The Dukes chpped away and tied the game at 72-72 when Matt Lewis scored on a lay-up with 1:40 to go. After a turnover from each side, Haprer picked the pocket of Mosley and drove down court for an uncontested lay-up. Lewis answered with 27 seconds to play to tie it and Drexel had the ball for what looked like the last possession. Lee got the ball in his hands and drove the basket, where he was fouled by Ramone Snowden, with just six seconds to play. He made both free throws, giving Drexel the 76-74 lead. JMU got the ball in quickly to Mosley who raced down the court, only to meet up with Williams as time expired.

Harper was able to get to the basket most of the day and finished the day 10-for-12 from the line. Sammy Mojica had a solid day from the floor, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor. He made four three-pointers and handed out three assists. Lee had all 14 of his points in the second half. Williams had another good day, scoring 11 points, grabbing eight boards and five blocked shots.

Lewis led the Dukes with 26 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Mosley added 22 points and was 4-for-10 from deep.

The Dragons will play four of their next five games away from the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The stretch begins on Saturday afternoon when Drexel will visit William & Mary in Williamsburg.
