PHILADELPHIA - The men's and women's tennis teams blanked Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Vidas Courts.
The men won all three doubles matches. Sinan Orhon and Bernard Tefel teamed up to win the top doubles point, 6-1. Sanil Jagtiani and Balaji Lakshmanan won at No. 2, 6-4, then Xandy Hammit and Hamza Laleej won 6-3 at No. 3.
In singles play, the Dragons won all six with five being straight set victories. Hamza Laleej won at No. 1 spot, 6-2, 7-6(5), Lakshmanan won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1 and Jagtiani closed out the top half of the lineup with a win at No. 3, 7-6(2), 6-4. Orhon defeated his opponent in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 at No. 4, Lahlou won at No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-0, and Hammit won at No. 6, 6-3, 6-3.
The women swept the doubles with Salma Ziouti and Clary Rodriguez winning 7-6(4) at No. 1 while Mya Fuentes and Ryshena Providence won 7-5 at No. 2.
In singles action, the Dragon's won all six, while capturing four wins in straight sets. Ghita Benhadi won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, Salma Ziouti won 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3, Anisiya Simpson defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 and Ryshena Providence won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5.
The Dragons will return to action on Thursday, March 29 when they host Temple at 1 p.m.
