Women’s Tennis Earns First Ever Program Win Against Temple, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA – Anisiya Simpson won at No. 6 singles to clinch the match, 5-2, for the Drexel women's tennis team's first ever program history win against Temple on Thursday afternoon at Vidas Courts.
The Dragons won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles for the point. No. 3 doubles was a tough fought battle by Ryshena Providence and Mya Fuentes as they won the deciding tiebreaker, 9-7, to clinch the win, 7-6. In singles action, Simpson clinched the match for the Dragons defeating her opponent in the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-4. Kendra Bunch, Ghita Benhadi and Fuentes each won in straight sets. Bunch won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, Benhadi won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. and Fuentes defeated her opponent, 7-6(5), 5-7, 7-5, at No. 4.
The Dragons will get right back to work on Friday, March 30 when they host Towson in CAA action at the Vidas Courts. Match is set to start at 1 p.m.
