Final Results
Annapolis, Md. - The Drexel golf team battled through a difficult day in eastern Maryland on Sunday and finished in a tie for seventh place at the Navy Spring Invitational. The tournament was held at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
On Saturday, the course played difficult despite the sunny afternoon. Sunday was a different story. Rain accompanied the players for most of the day and the temperature hovered in the low 50s for most of the round. The scores were unusually high across the board. George Washington took home the win at 36-over par. Towson and Lehigh were nine shots back.
The Dragons posed a 324 on the afternoon. Connor Schmidt was Drexel's top finisher in the tournament finishing in a tie for 10th place despite shooting 11-over par in the 36-hole tournament. Adam Mistretta had the Draogns best round of the day, shooting an 80. He was three shots behind Schmidt and two strokes better than Alex Butler. Aaron Fricke (159), Brendan Bacskai (161) and the rest of the squad look forward to getting back to Philadelphia. The team will have its final tune-up, weather permitting, on Monday morning at the Finegan Invitational at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern.
