Rowing Sweeps Racing Saturday Morning at Rumson Boat Race

RUMSON, N.J. - The Drexel rowing team opened the 2018 fall season Saturday morning with a four-race sweep at the Rumson Boat Race on the Navesink River. The women's varsity eight, men's varsity eight, women's second varsity eight and men's second varsity eight all paced the competition. Competing crews included Army West Point, Coast Guard, Rutgers and Villanova.

The women's varsity eight opened the fall with a victory in the Alleva XVII boat. The men's varsity eight followed with a win of its own in the Lois Krall II boat. Closing out the morning were victories from both the women's and men's second varsity eights. The women earned the victory in the Cara Fry boat. The men took the gold in the Sandra Lee Sheller II boat.

Times and order of the finish will be added upon posting to Row2k.

The Dragons will race the Bucknell Invitational next Sunday on the Susquehanna River before their first race on the Schuylkill River this fall on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Navy Day Regatta.
