Men's Tennis Falls to Navy, 5-2

ANNAPOLIS, MD. - Drexel men's tennis picked up singles wins from Alvaro Cruz Chamorro and Youssef Lahlou, however, it was not enough as the Dragons fell 5-2 at Navy on Sunday afternoon.

"We played well but we need to continue to work on playing percentage and focus more on big points," said Head Coach Mehdi Rhazli."We are playing on a schedule that will challenge us on many levels but I am confident in this team."

Lahlou started the day off strong for the Dragons, earning the first singles win of the day in the No. 6 spot against Conners Obrien. He cruised to his victory, blanking Obrien in the first set 6-0 before finishing him off in the second set, 6-1. Chamorro followed Lahlou's lead, notching Drexel's second win in the No. 1 spot against Peter Lohrbach, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles action, Juan Manuel Sanchez and Chamorro teamed up to take down Sam Vagner and Hicks, 6-4, but the Dragons could not pull off another win to secure the doubles point.

Drexel will return to the courts on Friday, Jan. 25 when it hosts Liberty at 9 a.m. at the Hecht/Hamlin Center.
