PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University men's and women's rowing teams finished up at the annual Navy Day Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 12. It came as the first regatta of the fall on the Schuylkill River for the Dragons.

Drexel earned top-five finishes from both varsity 'A' boats. The women's varsity eight A, racing in the Alleva XVII, placed third of 30 total boats in Drexel's final race of the day with a time of 13:37.59. The men's varsity eight A, in the Lois Krall II, took fourth of 31 boats, posting a time of 12:14.80.

The men's varsity eight B, in the Sandra Lee Sheller II, finished in seventh of the same race at 12:27.66. The women's varsity eight B, in the Cara Fry, came in 17th with the alumni boat following up in 18th.

The men's junior varsity A, in the Lois Krall, placed fourth of six boats with a time of 12:57.60. The women's junior varsity, in the Marlene Buckley II, finished middle of the pack of the 16-boat event, coming in eighth with a time of 15:18.66.

The men's freshmen eight boats came in sixth and seventh at 13:12.03 and 13:13.56 in the first race of the day for the Dragons out of 15 boats.

NEXT UP
The Dragons return to action next weekend as they head to Boston for the Head of the Charles Regatta on Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20.
