Women’s Eight Places Third at Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday

BOSTON – The Drexel University women's rowing team sent two boats to the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday. The women's eight placed third of 32 boats while the women's four placed 21st of 56 boats.
Racing in the Alleva XVII, the women's eight came in third place overall of 32 boats. The Dragons had finished with the fourth best time but San Diego, who came in third, was disqualified following the race. It was also four spots better than their finish last fall when the Dragons came in seventh of 33.
Racing in the Marci, the women's four placed 21st of 56 boats on the Charles River. Duke won the event at 18:37.474 followed by Tennessee (18:45.960). Drexel finished with a time of 19:58.577.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Dragons return to action next weekend for two regattas: Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Head of the Schuylkill and Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Princeton Chase.
