Rowing Posts Five Top-Three Finishes at the Head of the Schuylkill

SATURDAY RESULTS

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University men's and women's rowing teams earned six top-five finishes including five trips to the podium at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Women
Drexel earned two silver-medal finishes on Saturday.

In the Championship 8+ race, the varsity eight, in the Alleva XVII, finished with a time of 13:38.312, about four seconds behind first-place Penn at 13:34.016.

The freshmen eight, in the Buckley II, also came in second of 21 boats. The women finished with a time of 14:55.480 behind Duquesne (14:34.109).

The second varsity eight, in the Cara Fry, placed fourth of 38 boats in the 38-boat Club Championship 8+ event.

Men
The Dragons earned two silver medals and one bronze at Saturday's Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.

The freshmen eight boats faired well, taking second (12:36.899) and third (12:52.618) in their 17-boat event, only trailing Temple (12:35.863).

In the Club Championship 8+ race, Drexel's A boat took second with a time of 12:35.237 with the B boat coming in seventh (12:57.654). The Potomac Boat Club posted the top time at 12:26.553.

In the Championship 8+, Drexel finished with times of 12:23.284 and 13:08.238 for sixth and 14th place.

WHAT'S NEXT
Drexel returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J. The women then close their fall schedule at the Cooper Sprints next Saturday, Nov. 2 in Cherry Hill, N.J. with the men finishing up the following weekend at the Frostbite Regatta on Saturday, Nov. 9.
