No. 11 Men’s Squash Runs Past No. 7 Columbia, 8-1

PHILADELPHIA – No. 11 Drexel Men's Squash turned in a dominant performance in its 8-1 win over No. 7 Columbia on Saturday at the Kline & Specter Squash Center. The Dragons (2-1) took care of business early, winning five of the first six matches to clinch the win.
Matias Knudsen set the tone with an 11-5, 11-1, 11-4 sweep of Robin Singh Mann in the No. 2 position. Filip Krueger and Dylan Kachur then followed with three-game victories of their own. Krueger topped Aditya Kankariya 11-2, 11-4, 11-9 in the No. 7 match, and Kachur won 12-10, 11-7, 11-5 against Chaitanya Shah in the third position.
The Lions (2-1) prevailed in the sixth slot, but the Dragons won out from there. Gautam Nagpal topped Vishan Patel with three identical 11-6 results to make the team score 4-1, setting up a clincher by Nicko Fehn. The freshman bested Hugh Camiener 11-5, 11-3, 11-7 in the ninth position to secure the decisive fifth point.
Noel Heaton made it 6-1 with Drexel's sixth sweep of the night. He downed Rahul Sehrawat in the No. 4 match – 11-3, 11-6, 11-6.
Lucas Rousselet needed an extra game to handle Callan Hall in the top-seeded match, an 11-3, 7-11, 11-5, 14-12 win.
Matthew Lucente provided the final exclamation mark on the night when he rallied from a loss in the first game to beat Justin Ghaeli 9-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-2.
Drexel faces a fast turnaround with a 12 p.m. match tomorrow at No. 4 Princeton.
