No. 11 Men’s Squash Upends No. 5 Yale, 6-3

PHILADELPHIA – Eleventh-ranked Drexel Men's Squash notched its second top-10 victory of the season and handed No. 5 Yale its first loss of the year with a 6-3 triumph at the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Saturday.
The two sides split the first four matches before the Dragons (4-2) won four-straight to run away with the match.
José López started off the day with a 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6 win over Eric Kim in the No. 7 match. The Bulldogs (3-1) evened the match with Harrison Gill's 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 win over Noel Heaton in the third position.
Matias Knudsen then topped Nadav Raziel in four games (8-11, 11-4, 13-11, 11-7) in the No. 2 match for his sixth-straight win to start the year. Jed Burde responed with an 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 12-10 win against Filip Krueger in the sixth slot.
Gautam Nagpal put Drexel ahead for good with an 11-2, 3-11, 11-9, 11-8 win over Tyler Carner in the No. 8 match. Nicko Fehn erased a 2-1 deficit to win the No. 9 match. Fehn trailed 11-3, 5-11, 12-14 after three but responded with 11-4 and 11-6 victories to put the Dragons on the brink of clinching.
Dylan Kachur provided the decisive fifth point with an 11-8, 11-8, 11-8 sweep of Siow Yee Xian in the fourth position. Lucas Rousselet added a 5-11, 11-4, 13-11, 11-2 victory against Spencer Lovejoy in the top match.
Matthew Lucente dropped his match with Calvin McCafferty in the fifth position to produce the final score.
Drexel wraps up December competition tomorrow when it hosts No. 6 Rochester at 12 p.m.
