HANNOVER, N.H. – Drexel women's tennis defeated UConn on Friday evening, 4-3, in an incredible fight at Manchester's Magic Lincer Tennis Club. Marta Martinez clinched the match in the No. 5 spot.

Drexel took the lead early by securing the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and the No. 3 position. Salma Ziouti and Tara Veluvolu teamed up for a 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot while Marta Martinez and Katka Majorova defeated their opponents by an identical score in the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, Salma Ziouti and Ghita Benhadi picked up the Dragons' first wins. Ziouti defeated Mireille Moreau, 6-4, 7-5, in the No. 1 spot while Benhadi took down Julieanne Bou in the No. 2 spot, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. After the Dragons dropped matches in the No. 3 and No. 6 spot, Martinez stepped up in the No. 5 spot and clinched the match, 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.

The Dragons will return to action tomorrow when they take on yale at 12 p.m.
