Men’s Rowing Heads to California for the UC San Diego Invitational

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The Drexel men's rowing team makes a weekend trip to southern California for the 2019 UC San Diego Invitational on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 from Chula Vista, Calif. on Lower Otay Lake. The Dragons will race against UC San Diego, the University of San Diego, Gonzaga University and Stanford University at the two-day event.
LAST TIME OUT
Drexel last raced at the weather-shortened Murphy Cup Regatta on March 23 in Cherry Hill, N.J. The Dragons, in the Lois Krall II, took first place in the grand finals of the Varsity 8+ with a time of 5:57.56, edging out the next closest competitor, Marist (6:01.26), by just over three seconds. In the Sandra Lee Sheller II, Drexel also won the 3rd Varsity 8+ finals, crossing the finish at 6:06.85 before Temple (B, 6:20.70) by almost 14 seconds.

Following the weekend to California, Drexel Men's Rowing heads to Washington, D.C. for the George Washington Invitational on April 12-13.
