No. 5 Men’s Squash Falls to No. 2 Trinity

PHILADELPHIA – Second-ranked Trinity topped No. 5 Drexel Men's Squash by a 9-0 margin on Thursday afternoon at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.

Three matches went the distance, but the Bantams (7-0) prevailed over the Dragons (5-3) in the fifth game each time.

Dylan Kachur and Miko Aijanen battled across five games in the top-seeded position. Kachur found himself in an early 11-3, 11-1 hole but won the next two by 11-7 and 11-9 scores. Aijanen prevailed 11-5 in the fifth game.

The No. 2 match between Noel Heaton and Michael Craig was also decided in five games. Heaton fell behind with an 11-5 loss in the first game but rallied for 11-5 wins of his own in the next two games. Craig stemmed the tide with an 11-3 win then prevailed 11-9 in the fifth game.

Matthew Lucente and Thoboki Mohohlo went the distance in the fourth slot as well. After an 11-7 loss in the first game, Lucente won 11-8 and 14-12 in the next two. Mohohlo countered with 11-5 and 11-8 victories in the final two games to win the match.

Nicko Fehn took the third game in an 11-9, 11-3, 9-11, 11-2 loss to Yehia Essam in the No. 7 match.

The Dragons return to the Kline & Specter Squash Center on Sunday for the middle match of a three-game homestand. Drexel hosts No. 19 Middlebury at 12:30 p.m.
