No. 5 Men’s Squash Sweeps No. 18 Navy on the Road

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The fifth-ranked Drexel men's squash team capped its final road match of the regular season in grand fashion with a 9-0 sweep at No. 18 Navy on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons (8-5) won five of the nine matches in three games.

Lucas Rousselet moved past a hiccup in the third game for an 11-9, 11-8, 9-11, 11-8 win over Jonathan Lentz in the top-seeded match. The senior now has 35 career wins, solidifying his hold on ninth place in the career wins list at Drexel.
Dylan Kachur won in four games in the No. 2 match to hit a significant career milestone. The 11-9, 11-7, 4-11, 11-3 win over Owen Davis was the 30th of Kachur's career. He ties Omar El Atmas for the 11th-most victories with the Dragons and is just two shy of Noel Solomon and 10th place.
Filip Krueger outlasted Michael Kacergis in a five-game match in the No. 3 position. Krueger took the opener, 11-6, before back-to-back 11-6 wins from Kacergis. Krueger leveled the match with an 11-7 result in the fourth game before sealing the deal with an 11-8 winner in the fifth.
Matches four through eight all ended via three-game sweeps. Noel Heaton dispatched Millen Randell with 11-9, 11-6 and 11-8 victories in the No. 4 match. Matthew Lucente took the fifth-seeded match from Ryan York by an 11-8, 11-0, 11-5 margin, and José López won 11-7, 12-10, 11-1 over Ben Korn in the No. 6 flight.
Gautam Nagpal notched win No. 10 with an 11-3, 11-1, 11-8 sweep of Thomas Rankin in the No. 7 match. The freshman is now 10-2 on the year and leads the Dragons in victories.
Nicko Fehn swept aside Gus Prager – 11-4, 11-6, 11-7 – in the eighth-seeded flight.
Shaan Dalal overcame an 11-8 loss in the first game to prevail over Joe Kacergis in the No. 9 match. He rallied with wins of 11-5, 11-3 and 11-5 to take the match in four games.
The Dragons round out the regular season tomorrow when they host No. 12 George Washington on Senior Day. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. from the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
