Men's Swimming Wins Silver, Bronze on Day Two of CAA Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Drexel men's swimming and diving team returned to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center for day two of the CAA Championships on Thursday. The Dragons were able to win silver and bronze medals while setting multiple program records and pushing their overall placement in the standings to third place with 202 points.
Jason Arthur and Paris Raptis placed second and third in the 200 IM 'A' finals. Arthur posted the program's second best time at 1:46.44 to earn silver while Raptis turned in a time of 1:47.93 to grab the bronze medal.
JonPat Ransom also swam in the 200 IM prelims, finishing ninth and one spot out of the 'A' finals by three-tenths of a second. In the 'B' finals, Ransom touched the wall in 1:51.68, placing fourth and 12th overall.
In the 500 free, Jake McBride was able to place seventh in the both the 'A' finals (4:33.74) and prelims (4:34.14).
Stathis Malamas earned a spot in the 'B' finals after turning in a time of 20.63 in the prelims. In the finals, he finished in fourth place and 12th overall at 20.54.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The four-day meet continues tomorrow morning with Friday prelims. On Friday and Saturday, prelims will take place at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.
Wednesday – 200 medley relay, Mens 1-meter, 800 free relay
Thursday – 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, Women's 3-meter, 200 free relay
Friday – 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, Men's 3-meter, 400 medley relay
Saturday – 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, Women's 1-meter, 400 free relay

The Dragons were able to win silver and bronze medals while setting multiple program records and pushing their overall placement in the standings to third place with 202 points.
Jason Arthur and Paris Raptis placed second and third in the 200 IM 'A' finals. Arthur posted the program's second best time at 1:46.44 to earn silver while Raptis turned in a time of 1:47.93 to grab the bronze medal.
JonPat Ransom also swam in the 200 IM prelims, finishing ninth and one spot out of the 'A' finals by three-tenths of a second. In the 'B' finals, Ransom touched the wall in 1:51.68, placing fourth and 12th overall.
In the 500 free, Jake McBride was able to place seventh in the both the 'A' finals (4:33.74) and prelims (4:34.14).
Stathis Malamas earned a spot in the 'B' finals after turning in a time of 20.63 in the prelims. In the finals, he finished in fourth place and 12th overall at 20.54.
