Men's Swimming and Diving Medals Four Times on Friday at CAA Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Drexel Men's Swimming and Diving team returned to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center for the third day of the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships. After three days, the Dragons are in third place and 92.5 points behind second.
Paris Raptis punched his ticket to the 'A' Finals of the 100 fly by swimming a 47.62 in the prelims. He then earned a spot on the podium after touching the wall in 47.43, good enough for second place and an improvement on his existing program record in the event.
Stathis Malamas qualified for the 'A' Finals of the 200 free by putting up a prelim time of 1:38.70. Malamas then notched a program record of 1:37.27 in the finals for his fourth-career silver medal. He also won bronze in the event in 2017.
Jason Arthur and JonPat Ransom both reached the 'A' Finals in the 400 IM. Arthur trimmed six seconds off his prelim time, setting a Drexel record and earning bronze with a mark of 3:51.65. The medal is the 15th of Arthur's career.
Arthur, Zachary Valenzuela, Raptis and Malamas competed in the 400 medley relay and won the bronze medal for their efforts. They were clocked at 3:14.25.
David Kneiss placed himself in the "B' finals for the 100 fly by swimming a 49.17 in the prelims. He won the 'B' Finals at 48.90.
The Dragons will finish the four-day event on Saturday. Prelims will start at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m.
