Men's Swimming and Diving Places Third in CAA Championships, Wins Two Golds on Day Four

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Men's Swimming and Diving finished day four of the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday. The Dragons had their best showing of all four days -- capturing two gold medals, a silver and a bronze. Drexel finished third among the five teams competing.
Jason Arthur returned to the top of the podium in the 200 back for the fourth year in a row. The senior posted a program-record time of 1:43.88. Arthur is the third swimmer to take the 200 back event four years in a row.
Paris Raptis competed in the 200 fly and turned in a prelim time of 1:46.95, securing a spot in the 'A' Finals. In the finals, Raptis won the first individual gold of his career with a mark of 1:45.53.
In the 400 free relay, the team of Kiran Richardson, Stathis Malamas, David Kneiss and Arthur swam a 2:56.80 for a program record and silver medal.
In the 1650 free, Jake McBride placed in the 'A' Finals with a time of 16:12.01. He then followed up with a time of 15:44.36 in the finals. That time earned McBride the bronze medal, the first medal of his career.
Malamas just missed out on bronze in the 100 free, where he finished a second out of third place with a time of 44.47.
William & Mary won the team championship with a score of 874.5. UNCW came in second with a score of 781. Drexel completed the four day competition with 601 points. Towson came in fourth with 531.5, and Delaware rounded out the bottom of the standings with 314.
