Dragons Finish Day Two of Cissie Leary Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team finished day two of the Cissie Leary Invitational hosted by Penn on Saturday. The Dragons competed against Cornell in doubles and Temple in singles play.

The Dragons took three of the four doubles matches against Cornell. Renata Lombera and Cristina Corte González paired up and defeated their opponents, 6-3. Aida Garcia Mendez and Tara Veluvolu took down their opponents by a score of 6-4. Lastly, the team of Pauline Kharkover and Isabel Cabrerizo defeated their competition, 6-1.

Garcia Mendez defeated her opponent, 6-4, 6-2 to take Drexel's only full match win. Pauline Kharkover earned a win after her Temple opponent withdrew from the match.

Drexel wraps up its fall season on Sunday, October 24 when it returns to Penn's campus to complete the Cissie Leary Invitational.
