Lemongo Makes Program History, Advances to ITA Super Regional

PHILADELPHIA – Lorie Lemongo of the Drexel women's tennis team made program history on Sunday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals, held at Penn. The freshman won her match and guaranteed herself a spot at the ITA Super Regionals on October 14.

Lemongo is the youngest Dragon in program history to make it this far in an ITA tournament. The Yaounde, Cameroon native received a bye in the first round of the tournament on Friday. On Saturday, Lemongo won two matches to advance to the pivotal round of 16 of the ITA Regionals. Today, the freshman defeated Tess Fisher of Rutgers, 6-3, 6-3.

Lemongo has a few weeks to prepare for her next opponent, Stephanie Schrage of Princeton, at the ITA Super Regionals. The tournament will be held at Princeton starting on October 14.
