Knudsen Earns Hardware at Junior Pan Am Games

CALI, Colombia - Matias Knudsen of the Drexel University men's squash team earned international accolades competing at the Junior Pan American Games held in Cali, Colombia.
Competing in three events, he won the gold medal in the men's doubles as Colombia downed Mexico 11-6, 11-9 in the final. He was part of a silver medal performance in the team competition, reaching the championship with wins against Guyana and Argentina.
Individually, Knudsen took the silver medal in men's singles, downing Gabriel Garcia Pederiva of Brazil 11-3, 11-1, 11-1 in the opening round, Ryan Picken of Canada 11-2, 11-4, 11-3 in the quarterfinals, and Miguel Gonzalo Pujol from Argentina 11-4, 11-9, 11-2 in the semis.
The Junior Pan American Games are a multi-sport event comprised of competitors between 17 to 22 years of age who represent countries in North, Central, and South America.
