PHILADELPHIA- The Drexel men's soccer team defeated the Delaware Blue Hens by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Dragons punched their tickets to the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Semifinals for the first time since 2013.

The Dragons broke open the match with two quick goals in the opening minutes of the second half. Chris Donovan scored his sixth goal of the season in the 53rd minute to put the Dragons up. Credited with an assist on the play was Patrick Murphy.

Donovan extended the lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute by finding the back of the net for the second time. It was Donovan's second multi-goal game of the season.

Delaware got on the board in the 61st minute of the game to pull itself within one goal. The goal was the first Drexel had allowed all year long on home turf.

In the 75th minute, Laolu Daranijo received a cross from Patrick Murphy and found the back of the net to give the Dragons an insurance goal and extend the lead to 3-1. Harrison Coron was credited with an assist as well. He played a quick pass to Murphy.

Daranijo scored his 10th goal of the season in the 83rd minute. Daranijo is the first Drexel player since 1994 to reach double-digits in the goals column.

The Drexel defense held the Delaware offense to just eight shots. Only two were on target.

The Dragons will stay in Philadelphia to host the CAA Men's Soccer Championships. The semifinals are slated to be played on Thursday, April 15. The first seed from the North Division, the Hofstra Pride, will play the second seed from the South Division, UNCW. In the other semifinal match, the first seed from the South Division, James Madison, will play the second seed from the North Division, Drexel. The winners of the two semifinal games will meet at Vidas Field on Saturday, April 17, for the championship match.
