TOWSON, MD - The Drexel women's tennis team clinched a nail biter against Towson on Thursday afternoon, fighting to a 4-3 victory over the Tigers. With the win, the Dragons move to 3-4 on the season with one more home contest ahead of them.

Both teams battled for points right from the start, each securing a doubles victory at No. 1 and No. 3, sending the decision to the No. 2 matchup. Šárka Richterová and Aida Garcia Mendez clinched the doubles point for the Dragons in a close 6-4 match with Towson's Amelia Lawson and Lea Kosanovic.

The Tigers answered back in singles play, taking the first victory in the No. 2 match however, Richterová quickly regained the advantage for the Dragons in the No. 1 slot with a big 6-1, 6-4 win over Alexa Martinez. Cabrerizo followed suit with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Amelia Lawson at No. 3 giving Drexel a 3-1 lead. Towson tied things up in the following two matches, bringing the victory down to the final matchup at No. 5. Martinez pulled through for the Dragons in a close 6-4, 6-4 contest with Jessica Assenmacher, closing out the day with a win.

Drexel has one final matchup scheduled for this Saturday, Apr. 17 on home court against Hofstra at 2 p.m.
