PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team defeated the Hofstra Pride in a match on Saturday afternoon at the Vidas Courts. The Dragons took the match with a clean sweep, 7-0.

The Dragons got a default win in the third-seeded match to take a quick lead in the doubles point. In the No. 1 doubles match, Aida Garcia Mendez and Šárka Richterová paired up to defeat their opponents, 6-1. The win clinched the doubles point for the Dragons.

In the second-seeded match, Pauline Kharkover and Marta Martinez beat their opponents, 6-1.

In the singles portion of the match, the Dragons picked up default wins in the fifth and sixth-seeded matches. The Dragons captured the match-clinching point in the fourth-seeded singles duel. Tara Veluvolu defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-0.

In the top-seeded match, Richterová won in two sets, 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 2 singles match, González defeated her opponent, 6-2, 6-0. Cabrerizo took care of business in the third-seeded match, 6-1, 6-2.

The Dragons are scheduled to face Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, April 20. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
