Men's Tennis Defeats Villanova, 4-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's tennis team defeated the Villanova Wildcats, 4-2, on Tuesday afternoon. After dropping the doubles point, the Dragons took over in singles play.
Matvey Radionov and Alvaro Cruz Chamorro were able to stop the Wildcats from finishing the sweep of the doubles point by winning their No. 3 match, 6-2.
Alvaro Cruz Chamorro defeated his opponent in the first-seeded match in singles play, 6-3, 6-3. Djordje Janackovic defeated his opponent in the No. 5 singles match, 6-1, 6-2. In the sixth-seeded match, Radionov defeated his opponent in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. With the match on the line, Hugo Brungs took care of his opponent in two sets, 6-0, 7-6 (6).
"The guys have been working hard and managing injuries the best they can," head coach Mehdi Rhazali said. "I am proud of how we focused today as a team and how we have shifted the momentum in our favor. The guys are working hard on some details to help us compete hard and play free."
The Dragons are scheduled to host Saint Joseph's on Saturday, April 24. The first serve is slated for noon.
