PHILADELPHIA, Pa - Chandler McFeeley and Isabel Jacobs of the Drexel field hockey team, were named to the CAA All-Tournament team, announced by the conference on Saturday afternoon.
Both athletes played an integral role in Drexel's semifinal overtime nail biter with James Madison University. McFeeley was a catalyst for the Dragon's offense, netting two of the teams three goals. The senior forward put the Dragons on the board in the second quarter to tie the game at one. McFeeley followed it up with a second goal in the 46th minute to give Drexel the advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of the game.
Jacobs was key in helping the Dragon's offense and defense in midfield. The sophomore helped push the ball into the Dukes offensive zone allowing for multiple scoring opportunities. Jacobs also helped the defense to ward off JMU's strong offensive movement, holding the Dukes scoreless from the 14th to the 33rd minute and then from the 36th minute to the 67th minute. Along with the Dragon's defense, Jacobs helped defend the net against JMU's 14 penalty corner attempts.
The Dragons closed out the season ranked fourth in the CAA with a 5-6 overall record and an even 3-3 record in conference play.
