5/8/2021 8:13:00 PM | Men's Rowing
PHILADELPHIA, Pa – The Drexel men's rowing team tallied several top performances at the 82nd Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday. The Dragons raced to six different medal worthy finishes including one gold, four silver and a bronze.
The third varsity eight shell in Lois Krall was the top finisher for the Dragons on the Schuylkill, moving past St. Joe's for a first-place finish marked at 6:03.55. The last time that the Dragons had a third varsity eight boat finish first at the Dad Vail was in the 2018 season.
Drexel had four boats win silver including the men's double, freshman 8, JV varsity four and JV eight shells. This is the first time in program history that the Dragons have had four boats receive silver in the same year.
The Dragons capped off a successful day on the river in the men's varsity eight race. The race came down to the wire as three teams battled to the top. Drexel's varsity eight shell brought home a third-place finish (5:32.669) with their strongest time of the afternoon, coming up just short behind Temple and George Washington.
