PHILADELPHIA – In an unprecedented year for college athletics, the Drexel wrestling team continuously stepped up to the challenge to make their shortened season memorable.
The Dragons competed in six regular season matches before the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships and secured big wins over LIU and George Mason. Amongst their conference opponents, Drexel closed out the top five in team ranks at the EIWA Championships with all 10 wrestlers earning a spot on the podium. The Dragons had six wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Tournament, the most the program has had since the 2002 season.
Michael O'Malley, Julian Flores, Luke Nichter, Bryan McLaughlin, Evan Barczak and Parker Kropman represented the Dragons in St. Louis, bringing home several wins to cap off a successful run.
The Dragons honored their hard work and dedication to their craft at the season end banquet where they presented a number of awards including Most Outstanding Wrestler, the Ironman Award and the "I Am A Dragon" Award.
