HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Cougars responded out of quarter break, tallying the first five points of the second before a Brugler layup stemmed the tide. The momentum shift was shortlived as Charleston used a 12-0 run to go up 28-21 just after the media timeout.
- Battling back, Drexel finished the period on a 6-2 spurt as a pull-up from Washington, a pair of free throws from Brugler, and a layup from Jasmine Valentine allowed the Dragons to claw to 30-27 at intermission.
- After the Cougars scored the first bucket of the third period, Drexel went on a 13-2 run to go up 40-36 with 3:03 to go in the stanza. As part of the span, Brugler collected her double-double and Tori Hyduke came up with her first block in a Drexel uniform.
