Dragons Earn First Win Against Pride Since 2016

PHILADELPHIA – Three second half goals, the last one coming on a rocket by Isabel Kuzy from just outside the box gave the Drexel Dragons a 3-2 win against the Hofstra Pride on Thursday night. Drexel is now 9-1-3 overall and 4-1-0 in the CAA. The win was the first for the Dragons against the Pride since 2016.

- Delaney Lappin scored Drexel's her eighth goal of the season. It is the most scores in a season for a Dragon since Vanessa Kara netted 11 in 2015.
- Annalena O'Reilly posted her sixth goal of the year. It is the fifth consecutive match she has recorded a point.
- For Kuzy, the goal was her third of the season.
- Casey Touey, Madison Maxwell, and Laila Payton had assists in the contest.
- Molly Piso turned aside six shots to help preserve the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- DU found itself in an early hole as Hofstra scored 1:35 into the match. The 1-0 score line carried into the half as neither team could dent the tally sheet the rest of the frame.
- Opening the second half, Lappin took a long feed from Touey and ran onto the ball. Facing the keeper one-on-one, she found the back of the net in the top right for her eighth goal of the season.
- After the Pride tied it seven minutes later, Drexel battled back a second time with 21 minutes to go. Maxwell crossed a ball in from the right side. O'Reilly headed the ball towards the net and just over the outstretched reach of the goaltender.
- At the end of the 75th minute, the Dragons got the game-winner as Payton fed Kuzy. The Cinnaminson, N.J. native collected and rocketed a shot from the top right of the box into the top left corner.
