Dragons Earn First Win Against Pride Since 2016

PHILADELPHIA – Three second half goals, the last one coming on a rocket by Isabel Kuzy from just outside the box gave the Drexel Dragons a 3-2 win against the Hofstra Pride on Thursday night. Drexel is now 9-1-3 overall and 4-1-0 in the CAA. The win was the first for the Dragons against the Pride since 2016.

Delaney Lappin scored Drexel's her eighth goal of the season. It is the most scores in a season for a Dragon since Vanessa Kara netted 11 in 2015.
Annalena O'Reilly posted her sixth goal of the year. It is the fifth consecutive match she has recorded a point.
For Kuzy, the goal was her third of the season.
Casey Touey, Madison Maxwell, and Laila Payton had assists in the contest.
Molly Piso turned aside six shots to help preserve the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

DU found itself in an early hole as Hofstra scored 1:35 into the match. The 1-0 score line carried into the half as neither team could dent the tally sheet the rest of the frame.
Opening the second half, Lappin took a long feed from Touey and ran onto the ball. Facing the keeper one-on-one, she found the back of the net in the top right for her eighth goal of the season.
After the Pride tied it seven minutes later, Drexel battled back a second time with 21 minutes to go. Maxwell crossed a ball in from the right side. O'Reilly headed the ball towards the net and just over the outstretched reach of the goaltender.
At the end of the 75th minute, the Dragons got the game-winner as Payton fed Kuzy. The Cinnaminson, N.J. native collected and rocketed a shot from the top right of the box into the top left corner.
