Dragons Defeat Arcadia at the DAC, 85-45

PHILADELPHIA – Lamar Oden, Jr., led four Drexel players in double figures with 13 points as the Dragons defeated Arcadia, 85-45, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Friday night. Oden and Garfield Turner recorded double-doubles as the Dragons improved to 2-1 on the season.
The Dragons controlled the contest on both ends of the floor. Drexel used its size advantage and more than double the Knights on the glass. The Dragons had 22 offensive rebounds in the game which led to 30 second chance points. Three different Drexel players had 10 rebounds in the game. Defensively, Drexel's defense forced Arcadia into 21 turnovers.
Oden finished the day with three 3-pointers and added 10 rebounds. Kobe MaGee had his first appearance of the season and was 6-for-10 from the floor. The freshman finished with 12 points. Coletrane Washington added 11 points, while Turner had 10 points and 10 boards. Mate Okros grabbed a career-high 10 boards in the game and led DU with five assists.
Drexel had a balanced scoring attack all night. Nine different Drexel players had at least five points in the game. Freshman Cole Hargrove made his first appearance in a Drexel uniform and scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds. Justin Moore added nine points, and has now scored nine points in each of his three games as a Dragon. Luke House also added nine points and three steals.
Jalen Watkins led Arcadia with 14 points and was 7-for-11 from the floor. Justin Money added 13 points and a team-best six rebounds. The Knights shot 39 percent from the floor but made just four of their 15 long-range attempts.
Drexel returns to action on Monday in the opening round of the Gulf Cast Showcase. The Dragons face UT Arlington at 5 p.m. in Estero, Fla.
