ESTERO, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast closed the game by scoring the final six points as the Eagles edged Drexel, 67-59, at the Gulf Coast Showcase. Amari Williams scored 20 points as the Dragons fell to 3-2 on the season. Drexel will play in the consolation game on Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Indiana State.
In a tightly-contested game, the Dragons trailed for most of the second half, but took the lead briefly midway through the final stanza. Coletrane Washington nailed a 3-pointer with 9:15 to play to give Drexel a 52-21 lead. FGCU (4-2) answered with a 7-0 run to take a six-point lead. Dahmir Bishop, a transfer from Saint Joseph's, made a jump shot to start the run and the Dragons were not able to take the lead the rest of the way.

Isaiah Thompson had a big night for FGCU. He scored 27 points and was 5-for-10 from behind the arc. Chase Johnston added 18 points. Andre Weir led everyone with 11 rebounds. FGCU will face Kansas City in the title game at 7:30.
