Four Players in Double Figures as Dragons Best Lehigh

PHILADELPHIA – Four players scored in double figures and the Drexel women's basketball team committed a season-low in turnovers as the Dragons downed the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 84-61 on Tuesday night.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Keishana Washington led all scorers with 33 points. It is her third time this season with 30 or more in a game and her 38th consecutive contest in double figures.
- Washington also set a career-high with 10 assists, earning her first collegiate double-double.
- Kylie Lavelle had 20 points on 9-for-11 shooting. It is her third game this season scoring 20+.
- Maura Hendrixson netted 12 in the game to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Hetta Saatman reached double figures with 11 points and added seven boards.
- As a team, Drexel shot 33-for-64 (51.2 percent) from the field and had 24 assists. The Dragons also went 9-for-17 from three-point range including four treys by Hendrixson.
- DU turned the ball over just five times in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dragons got off to a hot start, scoring 14 of the first 18 points of the game during the opening six minutes. The offense continued through the remainder of the period as Drexel shot 50 percent in the first quarter on its way to a 22-15 lead after 10 minutes.
- As hot as DU was in the first, the Dragons started the second even better, connecting on eight of their first 11 shots, building a 43-25 lead at the 2:49 mark. Helping the effort was impressive work from distance, as Drexel went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in the span. Keeping the foot on the gas, DU went into halftime up by 23 and had three players in double figures at the break.
- The second half brought more of the same early on as the Dragons increased their lead to 64-30 on a jumper by Lavelle with 5:25 remaining in the third. Lehigh climbed closer as the Mountain Hawks ended the frame on a 16-2 run, but Drexel still held a 66-48 lead into the final period.
- After Lehigh connected on a three-pointer on the first possession the fourth, Drexel began to right the ship as a layup and a jumper by Lavelle sandwiched a triple from Washington to push the DU lead back to 73-51 with just less than seven minutes remaining,
