Women's Tennis Falls to NJIT, 4-2

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team fell to the NJIT Highlanders on Friday, 4-2.
The Dragons jumped out to a quick start with the doubles point. Lorie Lemongo and Mya Fuentes once again paired up and won their fourth match together, taking down their opponents, 6-4. In the second-seeded match, Cristina Corte Gonzalez and Tara Veluvolu made quick work of their opponents, 6-2.
In singles play, Lemongo continued her successful freshman campaign, defeating her opponent in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. The win is Lemongo's 13th of the season. Aida Garcia was on her way to notching a victory in the fifth-seeded match but was unable to finish her match in time.
Drexel returns to court on Sunday, March 20, against Villanova. Action will kick off from Vidas Courts at 11 a.m.
