PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team was defeated by the Villanova Wildcats on Sunday afternoon, 5-2.
Drexel started out with a win in the third-seeded doubles match. Aida Garcia Mendez and Isabel Cabrerizo took down their opponents, 6-4, but Villanova battled back and won the doubles point, winning both with a score of 6-4.
In singles play, Renata Lombera defeated her opponent in the second slot, with identical 6-3 sets. In the third-seeded match, Cabrerizo downed her opponent, 6-2, 6-4.
Drexel travels south to Williamsburg, Va. to take on the Tribe on Tuesday, March 22. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
