
Women's Rowing Opens Spring Season with Sweep Against La Salle and Villanova

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel University women's rowing team made its season debut in fine form, sweeping all five races from La Salle and Villanova on Saturday morning.
Getting the day started for the Dragons, the V8+, rowing in Alleva XVII, took first in a time of 7:18.4, beating second place Villanova by eight seconds. The 2V8+ boat, competing in Cara Fry, pulled in a 30 second victory against the Wildcats, finishing in 7:29.4.
Next up was the V4+. Competing one-on-one against Villanova in Marci, Drexel finished with a time of 8:33.8. The 3V8+, rowing in Marlene Buckley II, and the 4V8+, competing in Maria Papadakis, both won with times of 7:59.7 and 8:38.8 respectively.
Next up for Drexel is the Doc Hosea Invitational in Cherry Hill, N.J. on Sunday, March 27.
