Women's Rowing Competes at Doc Hosea Invitational

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Drexel University women's rowing team continued its season on Sunday morning, competing in the heats of the Doc Hosea Invitational. The event finals were canceled due to conditions on the Cooper River.

The Dragons turned in a pair of impressive performances in the Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 8. In the V4+, Drexel placed third. Racing in Marci, DU finished just five seconds behind No. 10 Rutgers and were edged out by only a second against CAA rival Northeastern.

The 2V8+ also saw a third place finish, battling against a Penn squad that is receiving votes in the most recent Pocock CRCA poll. Competing in Cara Fry, Drexel completed the race in 6:53.56, placing one spot and two seconds ahead of Notre Dame.

Next up for the Dragons is the Sunshine State Invitational on Friday, April 1 in Sarasota, Fla.
