Dragons Sweep Doubles Point to Defeat Norfolk State, 4-1

NORFOLK, Va. – The Drexel women's tennis team rallied behind a sweep of the doubles point to defeat the Norfolk State Spartans, 4-1.
Drexel earned three hard-fought victories to clinch the doubles point and jump to a quick start in the match. Lorie Lemongo and Mya Fuentes paired up in the top flight and won their match, 6-3. Cristina Corte Gonzalez and Renata Lombera defeated their opponents in the second-seeded match, 6-2. Similarly, Aida Garcia Mendez and Isabel Cabrerizo also defeated their opponents, 6-2, in the No. 3 match.
Lemongo took the first-seeded match in singles play, 6-2, 6-0. In the fourth-seeded match, Garcia Mendez used a 6-3, 6-0 to defeat her opponent. Corte Gonzalez completed her best performance of the year by completely shutting out her opponent in the fifth-seeded match, 6-0, 6-0.
The Dragons return to Philadelphia and travel to Temple on April 8 to take on the Owls at 11 a.m.
