Nyamukondiwa Leads Drexel on Final Day in California

STANFORD, Calif. - Drexel newcomer Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa had one of his best rounds as a Dragon on the final day at The Goodwin. The transfer carded a two-over par 72 on the Stanford Golf Course in one of the top collegiate events in the country. The tournament featured 14 of the 75 ranked programs in the nation.
Naymuknodiwa, a transfer from West Texas, had three birdies in his final round. Jeffrey Cunningham shot 73 and was Drexel's top overall performer at the tournament. The graduate student finished at three-over par (213) over 54 holes. Drue Nicholas shot 217 after a four-over par round, while Angelo Giantsopoulos shot five-over par on Saturday and 221 over the three days.
Washington picked up the win by shooting 22-under par. The Huskies entered the week ranked ninth in the nation. Nevada (No. 47) finished three shots back, while the host Stanford (No. 14) finished five strokes behind the leader.
Drexel completed the tournament with a 294 on Saturday morning. The Dragons shot 875 and finished in 25th place out of 28 teams.
