Dragons Drop Match Against Army, 4-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Drexel men's tennis team was defeated by Army, 4-1, in West Point, N.Y. on Sunday afternoon.
The Dragons started strong early, grabbing the doubles point. Xandy Hammitt and Sanil Jagtiani defeated their opponents in the second-seeded match, 6-4. With the win, Jagtiani notched his 50th doubles victory of his career. In the No. 3 match, Matvey Radionov and Juan Manuel Sanchez paired and got the win, 6-4.
Army swept singles to take the 4-1 victory against Drexel. However, Hammitt challenged his opponent in the top-seeded match and pushed the flight into its third set. Hammitt's opponent earned the victory, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Drexel returns to the Vidas Courts on Tuesday, April 12 to take on Villanova in a rescheduled match from earlier in the season. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
