Washington Named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area

PHILADELPHIA – Keishana Washington of the Drexel University women's basketball team has been named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area as announced on Wednesday afternoon and voted on by the athletic communications offices of the 29 schools in the Philadelphia region.
Washington is the fourth Drexel player to earn Academic All-Area honors, joining Meghan Creighton (2017), Rachel Pearson (2016) and Gabriela Marginean (2008, 2009).
The Pickering, Ontario native averaged 19.2 points per game this season and was one of only 13 players in Division I to record double figures in every game she played (minimum 25 games). Her 654 points this season are the fourth most in the Drexel single season record books. She has 1,505 career points, 11th on the all-time scoring list for the Dragons and is seventh in three-pointers made (171) and eighth in field goals made (581).
In the classroom, Washington is a psychology major with a 3.72 cumulative GPA. She has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.
The award comes on the heels of Washington garnering First Team All-Conference, All-Tournament Team, CAA Scholar Athlete of the Year, and First Team All-Philly accolades.
