PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team defeated the Hofstra Pride on Saturday, 6-1, at the Vidas Courts. Prior to the match, the Dragons celebrated the careers of Pauline Kharkover and Tara Veluvolu.

The Dragons used victories in the top-seed and third-seeded matches to secure the doubles point. Lorie Lemongo and Mya Fuentes defeated their opponents, 6-4. Kharkover and Cristina Corte Gonzalez also defeated their opponents, 6-4.

In singles play, Lemongo defeated her opponent in the top flight with identical 6-2 sets. In the third-seeded match, Isabel Cabrerizo downed her opponent, 6-2, 6-0. Aida Garcia Mendez also downed her opponent, 6-2, 6-0. In the fifth-seeded match, Fuentes used 6-0, 6-1 sets to earn a victory. Lastly, Cristina Corte Gonzalez earned a victory in the sixth-seeded match by an early retirement.

The Dragons wrap up their season on Wednesday, April 20. The women's team will take a trip up north and visit the Saint Joseph's Hawks.
