Drexel Topples Saint Joseph's, 6-1

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel women's tennis team traveled to North Philadelphia and defeated the Saint Joseph's Hawks, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Dragons clinched the doubles point quickly after the third-seeded match, featuring Isabel Cabrerizo and Aida Garcia Mendez ended in shutout fashion, 6-0. The second-seeded finished second after Cristina Corte Gonzalez ad Tara Veluvolu finished their opponents, 6-2.
In singles play, Mya Fuentes picked up Drexel's second point of the match. Fuentes defeated her opponent in the fifth-seeded match, 6-4, 6-1. In the No. 6 match, Corte Gonzalez defeated her opponent, 6-4, 6-1. To clinch the match, Garcia Mendez defeated her opponent in the fourth spot, 7-6 (3), 6-1.
Cabrerizo defeated her opponent in the third-seeded match with a pair of 6-3 sets. Lorie Lemongo wrapped up Drexel's win barrage with a three-set victory, 6-7 (9), 6-3, 10-7.
Drexel has finished the regular season portion of its schedule and now turns its attention to the CAA Championships in Elon, N.C. starting on Thursday, April 28.
