Women's Rowing Competes at Eastern Sprints Regatta

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Drexel University women's rowing team took on some of the top competition in the Mid-Atlantic and New England at the Eastern Sprints Regatta on Sunday.
In the V8+, the Dragons qualifed for the Grand Final with a time of 6:37.246 in the opening heat. In rougher water later in the afternoon, the group of Natalie Cleri (coxswain), Grace Comerford (stroke), Hayley McKeever, Mollie Knoff, Alexandra Natale, Isabella D'Angelo, Kirby Droogan, Giavanna Hunt, and Kayla Driscoll (bow) rowed Alleva XVII to a sixth place finish in a race were each team posted a time more than 10 seconds higher than their qualifying marks.
Drexel also advanced to the Grand Final in the 3V8+. Competing in Marlene Buckley II, Maddie Depommier (coxswain), Addison Devine (stroke), Olivia Zwickle, Julia Porro, Maya Jacobsen, Avero Panico, Emily Ellis, Chloe Lamb, and Kira Tracy (bow) earned its spot with a time of 6:56.860 in the heats before turning in a fifth place finish in the final.
The Dragons posted a solid showing in the V4+, placing first in the Petite FInal with a time of 7:52.993, edging out Dartmouth.
Drexel returns to action at the historic Dad Vail Regatta on May 13-14.
